ALCOHOL: Today, I will discuss the most controversial topic for about 12000 years,namely, Alcohol.The alcohol is consumed by 80 % of people at some time in their lives. Alcohol or Ethanol or Ethyl Alcohol is defined as an organic compound composed of carbon,hydrogen and oxygen atoms with the molecular configuration as CH3CH2OH. I will not discuss other alcohols like methyl alcohol,propyl alcohol etc etc. The human beings have been consuming alcohol in various alcoholic beverages since 10000 year BC…. I wrote my thesis on alcohol in the year 1986 for my MD exam and concluded that the life-span of a heavy alcoholic is reduced by 12 years; and one out of six deaths in a government hospital is related to alcoholism.I was novice and naive then and the sample size of my study was limited. THE CRIME OF SILENCE: Today, I will discuss the topic which was in my mind for a long time but I could not word it propely.I hope my efforts are successful.The intention of my comments is to enlighten people about any issue by presenting my view-point and not to preach a sermon. THE CRIME OF SILENCE is defined as a willful and deliberate silence about an event occuring before our eyes which is shameful,illegal,immoral,uncivilised and dastardly.The deliberate silence is meant to escape from our responsibility as a civilised society under pretext of an apparent helplessness. THE RAPE : Rape is defined as a heinous crime in which an unwanted sexual intercourse/penetration is forced/coerced upon a victim without the wish/consent of the victim by an offender who could be a person known to the victim or a stranger.It is a crime even if the offender is a husband and it is a crime even if the victim did not offer resistance and it is a crime even if the victim was unconscious or conscious but under the influence of alcohol/drugs/threat/blackmail. _ Anybody can be raped including men,women,children and elderly. 91% of all rapes are committed on girls/women which will be discussed by me. Even animals like ducks/geese show rape like behavior.
