THE CRIME OF SILENCE:
Today, I will discuss the topic which was in my mind for a long time but I could not word it propely.I hope my efforts are successful.The intention of my comments is to enlighten people about any issue by presenting my view-point and not to preach a sermon.
THE CRIME OF SILENCE is defined as a willful and deliberate silence about an event occuring before our eyes which is shameful,illegal,immoral,uncivilised and dastardly.The deliberate silence is meant to escape from our responsibility as a civilised society under pretext of an apparent helplessness.
Everybody is guilty of the crime of silence including me.
No legal textbook ever mentions about it.
No court of law ever takes cognizance of it.
No punishment is given to the guilty of the crime of silence.
Few examples will suffice.
Example 1)
The roadside vehicular accidents: It is a common occurance in India that the witnesses of the roadside vehicular accidents usually run away because of the fear of police harassments and the responsibility of the provision of medical-care.
Example 2)
The Women Molestations: Recently, a news report from India narrated a story of a young woman jumped out of a running train to save her chastity from being looted by a scoundrel.The train compartment had many passengers but none came to help her.She broke many bones but saved her chastity.
Example 3)
The Khmer Rouge Massacre in Cambodia: In the years betweeen 1975 to 1979;the Khmer Rouge under Pot Pol killed 1.7 million people in Cambodia including killing thousands of Buddhist monks and raping thousands of Vietnamees women.
Example 4)
The Rwanda Genocide: In the year 1991; the Hutu-Militia killed 500,000 Rwanda-Tutsis in only hundred days.
Example 5)
The Bosnian-Muslim Massacre: In the year between 1992 to 1995; the serbian militia killed about 200,000 bosnian muslims and raped thousands of bosnian muslim women.The entire muslim world was silent at that time.
Example 6)
The Darfur massacre in Sudan: In the year 2003-2004; the government supported arab-militia killed about 300,000 ethnic african tribals and raped thousands of tribal women.The rape was so common that the women were forced to wear a protective mechanical device in their private-parts to prevent rape.
Example 7)
The theft of my mathematical formula of Pi: This formula was stolen in the year 1980-1981 by Indian leaders and media under pretext of my immaturity, my alleged status of an ambassador and my life as a complicated issue.The formula is not yet available for the students in their textbooks in schools.
There are many more examples of the crime of silence.
THE MORAL OF THE STORY:
IT IS TIME TO ACT RATHER THAN TO PRETEND HELPLESSNESS.
THE CRIME OF SILENCE IS A SHAME ON OUR CIVILISATION.
